Amber Portwood Pants On Fire: Fashion Fail
This installment of fashion fail is aimed at everybody?s favorite mom: Amber Portwood. This time, the troubled Teen Mom star was caught with the least fashionable pants of all?the kind that are on fire. According to TMZ, the troubled mom has allegedly caught herself in a pretty big lie. The rental company that she once rented from now says that she lied about how much money she made in 2010, which actually ruled her out as someone who would be allowed to rent there in the first place. Apparently, Portwood lived in subsidized housing despite making over $280,000! That?s enough for her nose to grow and for her designer jeans to become engulfed in flames. If this is true, shame on you Amber. If not, well, shame on you anyway.

Google MapsGL update adds parallax perspective, improves virtual tourism
Google's been spending some quality time with its Maps offering of late. Most recently, it overhauled the 3D buildings and landmarks to make them, well, better. This time, its Maps' juiced up sibling MapsGL that's been feeling the paternal love. The WebGL-based 3D renderings have been given parallax perspective, making your virtual aerial tours all the more realistic. As you glide over the landscape, your view of the building changes accordingly, more like in real life. Or you could just take the lazy tourism one step further. Hit the source for examples.

Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show
Singer tells MTV News 'Fuerza Bruta' matches the 'more artistic' music on his upcoming album.

<P>This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City's "Fuerza Bruta," an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, <a href="/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> will also use the show to preview his June album release, <a href="/news/articles/1682140/usher-looking-for-myself.jhtml"><i>Looking for Myself.</i></a> </P><P> </P><P>Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they've ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks. </P><P> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:764205/cp~vid%3D764205%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A764205" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed> </P><P> </P><P>"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of 'Fuerza Bruta' would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," he explained of tying this performance to his album. "When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine ... and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked." </P><P> </P><P>The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of "Fuerza Bruta" works with the sound he's created on it. "This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," he said. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. Over A Year Since Launch, The Mac App Store Passes 10,000 App Milestone
Apple's iOS App Store always seems to outshine its computer-based counterpart, but it seems the company's Mac App Store has just hit a big milestone of its own. With the help of some timely database queries, French blog MacGeneration reported earlier today that Apple's Mac App Store now plays host to over 10,000 applications. A quick check with iOS and Mac app directory AppShopper homes in a bit more -- at time of writing, they count 10,334 listed apps in the Mac App Store. HTC One X case: Clear hard shell gets some forum love
We know, we know. You folks are chomping at the bit -- especially here in the U.S. -- to get your hands on an HTC One X. (We've still got a couple weeks before it drops on AT&T here.) But for the moment, let's talk about the HTC One X case.
We've already given you a little preview of HTC's own slim case. (Actually, that's us calling it a "slim case." HTC didn't even have a name for it yet when we saw it last week.) It's a really thin plastic deal that snaps onto the phone, offering some pretty basic protection. We've seen two versions -- one with a series of circles, and another that kind of looks like window blinds. The idea was that HTC didn't want to break up the underlying look and feel of the device. But while the cases certainly are slim (and they do fit very nicely), the designs are a bit on the extreme side. We'll just have to see how popular they are when they're finally made available. (And, no, we don't know when that will be.)
And we've done a full-blown review of the HTC One X Hard Shell Case with a flip stand.
But now we're getting another look at a new case -- and one that definitely lets the design of the phone shine through. Chrisjcks has posted a series of pics in our HTC One X forums showing the phone in the official HTC clear hard shell case. No crazy designs this time, just some pretty basic protection that still lets the polycarbonate shell of the phone show through. One piece of bad news is that it looks like the charging contacts are covered, which means you'll need to remove the case to use the phone in one of HTC's docks. (The crazy-designed cases we played with last week will actually work with the docks -- no removal required.)

Target Neutralized: Amazon Beats Tablet Makers At Their Own Game
With the announcement that the Kindle Fire has grabbed 54.4% of the Android Tablet market, it's clear to see that Amazon's Trojan Horse strategy paid off. As I wrote back in December, the Fire is Amazon's way of making all of their offerings "real." Movies, books, and games were Amazon's core competency back when all of that stuff was on disks and on paper and that core competency is repurposed now for the Information Age. That's what all of the other Android tablet makers missed: people don't want general-purpose devices anymore or at least general-purpose devices in tablet form. There is little need to be "productive" on a tablet when consumption is why most people buy them. Could Justin Bieber Perform With An Elvis Hologram?
The creators of Tupac's Coachella hologram reveal other artists they'd like to bring back to life: Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson.

The late rapper's lifelike image left fans in awe as it performed alongside Snoop Dogg during his set with Dr. Dre. </P><P> </P><P>The people behind the projection system that created the incredibly realistic likeness of the MC are now cooking up ideas of who else they might want to bring back to life. </P><P> </P><P>Speaking to <a href="http://www.nme.com/news/2pac/63453" target="_blank"><i>NME</i></a>, Sanj Surati, head of music at Musion Technology Ltd, explained that one of music's greats could one day perform alongside one of pop's biggest stars. "Maybe even Whitney Houston." </P><P> </P><P>As for the future of the famous Tupac-ogram, well, Surati hopes it can be resurrected once again on a bigger-scale tour. "This is obviously a historic and exciting initiative that we're all witnessing currently, and it would make sense for them to bring it to Europe," he said. "And maybe take it to the rest of the world." </P><P> </P><P>Since the debut of the Tupac hologram, fans have been wondering what other beloved performers could find new life using this technology. On the <a href="/news/articles/1683858/left-eye-tlc-death.jhtml">10-year anniversary of Left Eye's death</a>, there was an unconfirmed report from <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/04/25/tlc-reunion-tour-left-eye-lisa-lopes/#.T5hXEeDoruQ" target="_blank">TMZ</a> that TLC might bring back the group's sassy rapper for a "massive 2012 reunion tour."
