Some of us have always dreamed of being a lightsaber-wielding?Jedi knight. Yet others have had far more accesssible dreams, such as finally taking care of that pesky fly that's been buzzing around their living room for a week. For those very select few who simultaneously hold both those aspirations, today is a very good day indeed: Meet the?bug-zapping lightsaber.
The bad news is that this lovely little item can't actually be bought in stores. The good news is that Caleb Kraft over at the website?Hack a Day has provided us with a step-by-step tutorial video on how to use the force to take care of minor insect infestations.
Using a toy lightsaber and a bug-zapping toy tennis net he bought at Walmart, Kraft hacks together his own space-age, bug-slaying weapon in about 20 minutes. This might actually serve as a pretty?neat?Star Wars craft project for tech-minded adults, but given how a bug zapper will just as easily zap tiny little fingers, we'd exercise some common sense when it comes to the younger set. After all, this homemade lightsaber isn't?a fun nightlight ? it's a dedicated killing tool.
